Requirements

Class 1 or Class 3 license (for Plant Watering Driver and Hauling positions)
Class 1 or Class 3 license or Class 5 with Air Brakes (for Watering - Tandem or Single Axle position)
Positive mindset
Strong work ethic
Self-motivation
Ability to perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip vehicle inspections
Ability to report mechanical problems
Ability to follow routes and meet delivery schedules
Practice safe driving adhering to traffic laws, site-specific protocols, and weather-related precautions
Participation in required safety training and meetings

Job Responsibility

Transport equipment and materials to various project locations in Calgary and surrounding areas
For Water Truck Drivers: Learn to effectively promote healthy plant growth through watering
Identify when an area is in need of extra water
For Plant Watering Driver: Work with logistics manager to deliver water safely and timely
Inspect health and moisture levels of plant material and water appropriately
For Watering - Tandem or Single Axle: Deliver water to sites to minimize dust
For Hauling - Tandem Axle: Work with logistics manager to deliver equipment and materials safely and timely
Load materials and equipment daily

Job Responsibility

Operate and drive heavy haul trucks to transport tons of materials over short distances in a surface environment
Perform inspections of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals and brakes
Ensure cargo is properly loaded according to safety requirements
Follow all safety policies, procedures and legislation
Maintain paper or electronic logbook
Communicate with Dispatcher and other Haul Truck Drivers using communication devices such as a two-ways radio or onboard computers
May drive special purpose vehicles, including end dump trucks, center dump truck units and water trucks
