Job Description

Civiltec Engineering is seeking a California registered professional engineer specializing in potable water systems design for the role as Project Engineer in our Upland, CA office. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of municipal water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, water treatment facilities, and groundwater well systems. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers while taking on increasing ownership of project delivery, mentoring junior staff, and helping shape innovative solutions for our clients.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist senior engineers with the planning, design, project management, and construction support of municipal water infrastructure projects
  • Lead the design of potable water pipelines, pumping systems, and water treatment facilities from concept through construction
  • Prepare engineering calculations, hydraulic analyses, technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Perform hydraulic modeling and analyses, including pump selection, system head loss calculations, pipeline sizing, and evaluation of system performance
  • Oversee and mentor junior engineers, review technical work, and perform quality control on project deliverables
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Provide engineering support during construction by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, evaluating design modifications, and resolving field issues
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical, cost-effective solutions that meet hydraulic, environmental, regulatory, and operational requirements

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California
  • 5–7 years of experience designing municipal potable water systems
  • Experience designing water pipelines, pump stations, and related infrastructure
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables
  • A genuine desire to continue learning, growing technically, and contributing to a collaborative engineering team
  • Arizona PE license
  • Experience with groundwater well equipping projects
  • Experience designing chemical dosing systems
  • Experience with potable water treatment systems, including: Ion Exchange
  • Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)
  • Experience using Plant 3D
