Job Description:

The Town of Wellesley Department of Public Works is looking for full-time Water & Sewer Maintenance Worker for the Water & Sewer Division. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in performing skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled labor relating to water, sewer, and related construction work.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performing skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled labor relating to water, sewer, and related construction work
  • Using manual or power hand tools
  • Assisting in the inspection, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the Town’s water and sewer infrastructure
  • Using construction equipment including Class D vehicles, excavators, backhoes, forklifts, power tools, manual tools, and other equipment
  • Participation in the Town’s snow and ice control program
  • Availability for stand-by, emergency, and weekend duties as required

Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid MA Class D license
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A good employment record
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Hoisting Engineer’s License classes 2A and 1C within one year of hire
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
