Randstad is currently partnering with a leading utilities provider to recruit experienced Water Service Operators (WSO) to support the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure across Northern Tasmania. This role is ideally suited to candidates with a plumbing background or relevant trade experience, who are confident working in the field, managing daily work orders, and adapting to a variety of environments.
Job Responsibility:
Undertake the operation, maintenance and repair of infrastructure assets
Carry out daily work orders, inspections and planned maintenance
Use hand tools, power tools and specialised equipment
Complete operational reporting and documentation
Assess asset condition and escalate risks where required
Liaise with internal teams, contractors and the public
Work across multiple sites while managing priorities effectively
Follow all WHS requirements and contribute to a strong safety culture
Participate in on-call rosters and respond to call-outs as required
Requirements:
Plumbing experience or trade background (highly regarded)
Experience in water, utilities, civil or similar field-based roles
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on-site
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders
White Card (essential)
Confined Spaces and First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Current driver’s licence
Physically fit and capable of manual work
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
MR Truck Licence (desirable, not essential)
Nice to have:
