Under direction of the Assistant General Manager for Water, the Water Resources Division Manager will be responsible for directing the development and implementation of water conservation, recycled water, purified water, and groundwater programs (collectively "alternative water supply") to help meet future water supply needs for the SFPUC's retail and wholesale customers. The Manager will be responsible for managing teams to 1) direct the development and implementation of alternative water supply programs and multiple water conservation and water supply projects; 2) direct long-term studies regarding alternative water supply and conservation/demand management; and 3) coordinate needs to help inform decision-makers and the public about program implementation.
Job Responsibility
Direct the development and implementation of water conservation, recycled water, purified water, and groundwater programs to help meet future water supply needs
Direct long-term alternative water supply planning and water supply demand studies
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align planning needs and project needs for implementation
Plan, monitor, evaluate, and supervise the operation of the Water Resources Division
Manage the development of capital budgets and projections related to program objectives
Supervise the tracking and reporting on Water Resources Division projects
Serve as the agency representative in local, regional, and statewide efforts
Coordinate thoughtful outreach plans to engage with stakeholders
Deliver presentations to diverse audiences
Negotiate complex multi-party agreements
Requirements
Possession of a baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited college or university
At least eight (8) years of professional experience in water supply planning and/or strategic planning
and project management
of which three (3) years must include experience supervising/leading teams of professionals
Nice to have
Experience successfully managing complex capital projects and water supply planning efforts
Ability to work independently or in a collaborative effort with others effectively and efficiently
Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation and writing skills
Experience managing cross-functional teams to implement projects and/or programs
