Job Description:

The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as Water Quality Senior Technicians. These are regular, full-time positions with benefits. The positions will have the option to work 5/8's or 4/10's.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform a variety of technical duties associated with protection of the water distribution system including implementation of the City’s cross connection control program
  • Collection of drinking water samples for regulatory compliance and operation process control purposes
  • Responds to customer service calls regarding water quality issues
  • Verification of proper disinfection and flushing of new water lines

Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or GED supplemented by 1 year of technical training or related coursework
  • 3 years of experience with physical or chemical testing, water treatment, water distribution system, sewer system maintenance or directly related field
  • An ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment or Water Distribution Certification upon hire or promotion
  • A Backflow Assembly Tester Certification within 1 year of hire or promotion
  • A Cross Connection Specialist Certification within 2 years of hire or promotion
  • A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record

  • Calculate and prepare engineering documents for respective engineering discipline, including details, schedules and cost estimates for projects, performing life cycle cost analyses, performing hydraulic analysis calculations and developing hydraulic profiles, and coordinating with CADD technicians for construction plan production
  • The selection and application of engineering systems and materials in accordance with the latest governing codes applicable to the project type will be required
