Job Description

Water Management Subject Matter Expert to serve as the technical authority for all water systems across JLL managed Google portfolio. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance technical expertise with business acumen to ensure water system compliance, optimize performance, and drive sustainability initiatives across all water-related infrastructure.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as the primary water management SME for all technical matters across the entire portfolio, providing authoritative guidance on water systems, standards, and best practices
  • Provide technical oversight for water treatment plant (WTP) maintenance programs, RO plant operations, plumbing system specifications, and sewage treatment plant (STP) upgrades
  • Undertake design reviews of water infrastructure including WTP facilities, RO systems, domestic water distribution networks, STP operations, pumping stations, water storage systems, filtration equipment, and plumbing distribution systems
  • Provide technical oversight for landlord-managed water systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance standards
  • Advise leadership team on all water system compliance requirements including local water quality standards, environmental regulations, health codes, and industry-specific requirements
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for water systems to identify single points of failure (SPOFs) and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Develop and implement incident management protocols for water-related emergencies, system failures, and quality issues across the portfolio
  • Partner with the Sustainability Lead to drive water conservation initiatives including rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, and advanced treatment technologies
  • Identify and quantify opportunities for water savings through system optimization, equipment upgrades, leak detection programs, and operational improvements
  • Develop business cases for water efficiency projects and track performance against conservation targets in conjunction with sustainability lead
  • Support LEED Water Efficiency credits, ENERGY STAR water benchmarking, and other sustainability certification processes from a water management perspective
  • Design and deliver comprehensive water management training programs for facility technicians and maintenance staff across all sites, covering safety protocols, water quality testing, system troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance best practices
  • Develop standardized water systems curriculum, competency assessments, and certification programs to evaluate and enhance technical skills across the water management team
  • Create training modules for STP operations, WTP maintenance, RO system management, and domestic water system protocols
  • Research emerging water treatment technologies and evaluate their applicability to the portfolio including smart water meters, IoT monitoring systems, and advanced filtration technologies
  • Lead pilot programs for new water management systems, smart building water technologies, and IoT integration for real-time monitoring and optimization
  • Establish key performance indicators and benchmarking metrics for water system performance, quality standards, and conservation targets
  • Lead development and implementation of water management innovation pilot projects across the portfolio, including smart water monitoring, predictive maintenance systems, and advanced treatment technologies to drive operational efficiency and cost reduction
  • Identify and implement water management operational excellence opportunities including predictive maintenance programs using IoT sensors, automated water system monitoring, leak detection technologies, and data-driven optimization strategies to reduce water loss and system downtime
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as water system standardization programs, vendor consolidation strategies, automated reporting systems, and remote monitoring capabilities to enhance service delivery efficiency and reduce operational complexity across all sites
  • Develop standardized delivery protocols for water services across tenant and landlord-managed spaces, ensuring consistent service quality and performance standards
  • Establish oversight protocols for landlord-managed water systems including performance monitoring, compliance verification, and service level agreement management
  • Develop collaborative frameworks with landlords to ensure optimal water system performance, emergency response coordination, and infrastructure upgrade planning
  • Create standardized reporting and communication protocols for landlord-managed water infrastructure to maintain visibility and control over water system performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering required
  • Relevant certifications in water treatment, wastewater management, or environmental systems management highly desired
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in water systems management, mechanical systems design, or industrial engineering with focus on water infrastructure
  • Proven experience in water treatment plant operations, RO systems management, and sewage treatment plant oversight
  • Demonstrated expertise in mechanical systems design and optimization related to water infrastructure
  • Experience with large-scale facility management or industrial water systems preferred
  • Background in sustainability initiatives and water conservation programs
  • Experience with regulatory compliance in water quality standards and environmental regulations
  • Track record of leading technical teams and training program development
  • Experience with landlord-tenant facility management structures preferred
