We are seeking motivated Engineering or other suitably qualified professionals to join our high performing Water Division and assist in infrastructure assessment and planning of our water and wastewater infrastructure projects based in our Brisbane office. Our projects are varied and diverse and span the lifecycle of project delivery from master planning and strategic level studies through to feasibility studies and the detailed design of packages for construction. About the role: Our Water Group is growing, and we have some terrific opportunities for talented Water and Wastewater Planning Engineers and Network Hydraulic Modellers . Experience in delivering water and wastewater infrastructure solutions is desirable. However, we would be interested in hearing from you also if you are new in your career and have a passion for water and wastewater planning. In this position you will play an integral role amongst a diverse group of highly skilled professionals that ‘design with community in mind' to deliver program and project excellence for our water business clients in both metropolitan, regional, and remote contexts. We have a healthy workload focused on water supply and sewerage schemes with key water authorities in Queensland. You will join a dynamic and skilled team that works on water and wastewater infrastructure projects, not only locally, but across the APAC region.

Job Responsibility

  • Undertake hydraulic modelling, planning studies and feasibility assessments for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Experience in water supply and wastewater infrastructure planning projects involving growth assessments, options analysis, strategic and master planning
  • Experience in supporting activities including demand and flow analysis and the development of infrastructure demand projections, whole of life costs analysis, and multi-criteria analysis
  • Experience using water and wastewater modelling products such as Bentley WaterGEMS and Autodesk/Innovyze InfoWorks WS Pro and InfoWorks ICM SE Software
  • Experience using GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap and QGIS Software
  • Support to the team in development of operational interventions and network re-supply planning. Experience in working with and within network operations is advantageous
  • Provide technical input to water and wastewater engineering projects to meet project needs and client expectations, including reporting assessment and modelling outputs
  • Produce technical outputs that conform to the project scope through strong report writing, presentation development and communication skills
  • Support the team in development and expansion of the Company’s capability in the fields of water and wastewater planning, including obtaining new clients and/or new work from existing clients
  • Support the development of other team members through technical advice and guidance
  • Contribute to the team in proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or related suitable professional qualification
  • Relevant professional experience in consulting or engineering within the water industry Between 2 and 10 years of experience is desired. We would also like to hear from you if you are a recent graduate engineer with a strong passion for the water industry. Additionally, if you are a more senior engineer believing Stantec is the place to further your career.
  • Desired previous experience in planning potable water supply, gravity and pumped sewerage systems, and recycled water networks. Experience using Bentley WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, Autodesk/Innovyze InfoWorks WS Pro and InfoWorks ICM SE Software.
  • Experience using GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap and QGIS Software
  • Desired experience with dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies.
