Job Description:

The town of Mattapoisett is seeking a Provisional Laborer to maintain and repair water and sewer distribution systems. Responsibilities include pipe repair, meter reading, meter installation, brush cutting, maintain daily records in pump stations, operate ditch pumps, chain saws, generators, auxiliary standby power equipment, mechanical pipe cutters, hydraulic equipment, tapping machines, electronic pipe locators, air compressors, jackhammers, ditch compactors and all other aspects in the operation of a water and sewer distribution system

  • Required to work rotating weekends/holidays and respond to emergency call-outs

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Massachusetts Class D driver's license
  • Minimum one year of construction-related experience
  • Must be in good physical condition and pass a drug screening, physical, and CORI check
  • Preference will be given to candidates with drinking water licenses or experience in the installation of water and sewer main and/or services
