Job Description:

Our Waste Management team within Streetscene Services requires a Waste Management Supervisor to support the delivery of efficient, high-quality frontline waste services across the borough. This is operational supervisory role supports efficient service delivery while maintaining safety and performance standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist the Waste Management Team Leader in delivering waste collection services
  • Supervise and monitor collection crews
  • Ensure health and safety standards are followed
  • Carry out inspections and compliance checks
  • Maintain operational records (e.g. vehicle checks, driver hours, service documentation)
  • Deputise for the Waste Management Team Leader as required
  • Undertake frontline duties including driving and waste collections where needed to cover staff shortages

Requirements:

  • Class C driving licence minimum
  • Experience working in a frontline operational or customer orientated environment
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices
  • Ability to supervise staff and communicate effectively
  • Ability to use computerised or handheld devices
  • Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role
