Job Description:

Morson Edge is working with a key organisation within the UK nuclear sector to recruit a Waste Engineer / SMLO for a long-term contract based at Winfrith in Dorset. This role offers the opportunity to support critical site operations within a highly regulated environment, contributing to the safe and compliant delivery of waste management activities across a major decommissioning programme.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting the planning and execution of waste management activities on site
  • Providing technical input into waste handling, storage, and disposal processes
  • Ensuring compliance with nuclear industry standards, procedures, and safety regulations
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Supporting project delivery to agreed scope, time, and quality requirements
  • Maintaining awareness of industry developments and applying relevant improvements

Requirements:

  • Experience in waste management within a nuclear or highly regulated environment

  • Helping with desktop assessments, including collecting, organizing, and interpreting geological and geotechnical data, and contributing to reporting
  • Learning and applying geotechnical modelling tools (e.g., Slope/W, Seep/W, Muk3D) and in-house analytical methods
  • Contribute to engineering deliverables such as reports, drawings, specifications, presentations, and quantity estimates
  • Provide general project support, including coordination and client-related tasks under supervision
  • Work in accordance with KCB’s Quality Management System and Health and Safety Guidelines
  • Collaborate with other KCB offices in Australia and internationally as project needs arise
