Job Description:

We’re looking for a hands-on Waste Collection Manager to join our Derby team. This is a fast-paced, field-based role where you’ll lead from the front - growing a customer base, developing your team, and delivering an outstanding waste service. If you enjoy balancing sales, leadership, and operations in a target-driven environment, this role offers real ownership with the opportunity to build your own customer base and lead a team that makes a genuine impact. Job Responsibility:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of waste collection representatives
  • Drive revenue growth by sourcing and winning new business and developing existing customer accounts
  • Manage and grow customer relationships
  • Plan and coordinate routes, schedules, and work orders to maximise efficiency
  • Deliver against individual, team, and branch sales and waste targets
  • Handle customer queries and issues promptly
  • Manage team availability, including holiday and sickness cover
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance with HSEQ standards

Requirements:

  • Sales or account management background
  • Confident building strong relationships with customers
  • Natural communicator
  • Some leadership or supervisory experience
  • Hold a full UK Class 2 drivers licence
  • Happy working in a field-based role
