CK Group are recruiting for a Hazardous Waste Managing Chemist to join a Waste Management company at their site based in Darlington on a full time, permanent basis, for a salary dependent on experience.

Job Responsibility

  • Managing a team of chemists
  • Sampling and laboratory testing of waste
  • Stock control
  • Spill response
  • Supporting the Commercial function
  • Accepting/dispatch of waste
  • Packing work

Requirements

  • HNC/HND/BSc/MChem/MSc in Chemistry
  • Experience of working in the hazardous waste industry
  • Willingness to work outdoors in potentially all weather conditions
  • Entitlement to work in the UK is essential

  • Carry out waste processing operations
  • Load and unload vehicles using a forklift truck
  • Provide support to WTD clients/customers by listing, segregating, and labelling packaged chemical waste on their premises as required
  • Provide the necessary information to ensure chemical waste can be transported safely in accordance with current legislation
  • Ensure all labels and transport documentation, including waste lists where appropriate, are accurate, available, and compliant with current legislation
  • Safely transport packaged chemical waste, as required, to permitted waste disposal sites in accordance with instructions from the Commercial Team
  • Assist WTD drivers, as necessary, with the labelling and segregation of their loads
  • Support the Sales Team, as required, by sampling incoming and outgoing loads
