Job Responsibility

  • Monitor and analyze field warranty data for seating systems, including frames, tracks, recliners, foam, trim covers, airbags (seat-mounted), heaters/ventilation, and electrical components
  • Identify high-frequency, high-cost, and emerging quality issues related to the seating commodity
  • Develop and maintain warranty reports and dashboards to support management reviews and escalation meetings
  • Lead root cause analysis using OEM-standard methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, FMEA alignment)
  • Support OEM vehicle teardowns, field inspections, and failure analysis to determine true root causes
  • Coordinate with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to define and implement corrective actions
  • Validate the effectiveness of countermeasures through data analysis, testing, or field observations
  • Support warranty cost recovery activities with suppliers when applicable
  • Support field investigations, part returns, and tear-down analysis related to seat warranty claims

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
  • 3-7 years of experience in automotive warranty, quality, design, or manufacturing engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with automotive seating or interior components
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience working with warranty databases and large data sets
  • Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (8D, FMEA, statistical analysis)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Occasional domestic and international travel (approximate 10-20%), including supplier site and manufacturing plants, as required
