Job Responsibility:

  • Driving, loading, and unloading trailers
  • Driving fabricated material and tools between jobsites
  • Basic vehicle maintenance
  • General shop cleanup and organization
  • Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day
  • Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery
  • Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested
  • Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule
  • reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
  • Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed
  • Maintains records of goods that have been ordered and corresponding shipping dates
  • Reports major shipping problems to purchasing agent
  • Inspects shipments to confirm that products received meet specifications
  • Maintains business relationships with suppliers to ensure their assistance if an unexpected event requires expedited shipping of an order

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to drive large trucks
  • Ability to pull 20’ trailers
  • Ability to move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation
  • Available to consistently work a 40-hour week with frequent overtime
  • Willing to learn
  • Ability to drive safely
  • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
  • Ability to plan delivery routes
  • Ability to maintain basic logs and records
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous at all times
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
