The Warehouse & Transportation Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all inbound and outbound logistics activities for a high-volume Baby Diaper manufacturing plant. This role ensures uninterrupted flow of raw materials into the facility, efficient internal material movement, and timely shipment of finished goods to customers and distribution centers. The Logistics Manager partners closely with Production, Procurement, Quality, and Customer Service to ensure high levels of service and cost efficiency to support plant performance, cost control, service levels, and safety.
Job Responsibility:
Manage receipt, storage, and movement of raw materials
Coordinate inbound transportation, carrier scheduling, dock utilization, and yard management
Ensure accurate receiving, inspection coordination with Quality, and system transactions (ERP/WMS)
Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production schedules while minimizing excess and obsolescence
Design and manage efficient material flow from receiving through production lines and to finished goods storage
Optimize layout, staging, and material handling processes to support high-speed diaper production lines
Partner with Production to ensure materials are available at point of use, on time and in full
Manage material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors) and associated safety programs
Oversee finished goods warehousing, order picking, staging, and shipping
Coordinate outbound transportation to customers, DCs, and third-party warehouses
Ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance and compliance with customer routing guides
Resolve shipment issues, shortages, damages, and claims
Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis
Ensure proper use and integrity of ERP/WMS systems for inventory, shipping, and reporting
Develop and monitor KPIs such as inventory turns, dock-to-stock time, freight cost per unit, and service levels
Lead, coach, and develop logistics, warehouse, and material handling staff
Establish clear expectations, training plans, and performance management processes
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, plant safety standards, and company policies
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Drive Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations
Identify opportunities to reduce freight, handling, and storage costs while improving service
Support capital projects related to warehouse layout, automation, and material flow
Collaborate on demand planning, production planning, and S&OP activities as required
Supervise the entry and exit of requested orders
Manage purchase orders and product invoicing
Oversee product dispatches in coordination with the Warehouse Manager
Establish and maintain maximum and minimum inventory levels
Review weekly physical inventory movement reports
Analyze monthly product shortages and surpluses
Ensure compliance with FIFO (First In, First Out) to minimize waste due to expiration
Oversee the department’s day-to-day operations and ensure process accuracy
Develop and implement the company’s annual hiring plan for logistics personnel
Coordinate logistics functions across various departments
Optimize inventory provisioning and distribution policies
Organize and plan order preparation and distribution activities
Lead, manage, and supervise logistics staff
Design and execute cost-reduction strategies based on value chain analysis
Define and manage the company’s distribution plan
Establish delivery routes according to delivery zones
Determine emergency (“pop-up”) order distribution routes
Handle customer complaints or feedback personally and promptly
Monitor daily warehouse inventories
Supervise and control the use of distribution assets (trucks, carts, etc.)
Coordinate with the Purchasing and Finance departments on acquisition of new distribution assets
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or related field
5+ years of logistics, warehouse, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
Prior experience managing inbound and outbound logistics in a high-volume production facility
Demonstrated leadership experience supervising hourly teams
Working knowledge of ERP/WMS systems and inventory control practices
Strong understanding of safety, material handling, and transportation compliance
Proficiency in English
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Knowledge of FIFO system
Experience with SAP ERP, TRESS, and HACCP systems
Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and CTPAT standards
Experience in defining and monitoring KPIs
