Job Description:

The Warehouse Technician is responsible for the shipment, receipt, and the distribution of materials in a timely manner.

Job Responsibility:

  • Account for all materials and supplies in the facilities
  • audit goods received into warehouse
  • Oversee receipt, storage and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures
  • Prepare and coordinate schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space
  • Ensure the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment
  • Process sales orders and invoices
  • Update and maintain the warehouse location system
  • Participate in customer on-call services as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting any unsafe work habits, workplace incidents and / or near misses
  • Perform risk assessments (“Take Five”) prior to each task
  • Maintain orderly work area and ensure housekeeping requirements are met
  • Attend Environmental, Health and Safety related trainings
  • Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Minimum of one (1) year of warehouse or inventory experience
  • Experience operating a forklift is required
  • Experience using computerized inventory management systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team
  • Detail-oriented with good time management and organizational skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to move up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing

Nice to have:

Experience in mining operations is considered an asset

  • Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary warehouse building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance
  • Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due by utilizing an effective personal organization method
  • Maintains confidentiality and privacy of company sensitive data
