Job Description:

Join the Mowi Canada East Inc. Freshwater team as a Warehouse Technician (Yard Crew) at our Hatchery in Stephenville, NL. This will be a full time position with a Monday to Friday schedule. At Mowi, we work with the ocean to produce nutritious, delicious and supreme-quality seafood. We fulfill one fifth of global demand for farm-raised Atlantic salmon. Job Responsibility:

  • Assist management with daily activities to successfully meet the production requirements at the Stephenville Hatchery
  • Perform all aspects of day to day maintenance including, shipping and receiving, yard maintenance, cleaning of mortality bins, taking control of site deliveries, recording in detail and checking off delivered items, daily work orders and preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Ensure safety and biosecurity measures are being followed

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted Class 8 driver’s license valid in NL
  • Forklift Certification and experience
  • Telehandler Training
  • Hatchery or Aquaculture experience considered an asset
  • TDG considered an asset
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance background or experience
  • Well-developed English verbal and written communication
  • Physical ability to complete repetitive tasks and handle up to 25kg of material
  • Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work evening and weekends when required
  • Flexible to changing activities and shift schedules when required
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and desire to work in a team oriented environment
  • Respect for the need for safe working practices
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work safely and effectively outside in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable working with strong odours
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada
