BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is looking for a dynamic, results-driven individual to join as a Warehouse Team Leader at the new production plant in Viana, Portugal. The role involves leading a team, ensuring efficient warehouse operations, and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity within an automotive manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate team activities and assign tasks
Train new members on safety, procedures, and 5S
Train employees for warehouse area certification
Facilitate continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and motivation
Participate in problem solving (8D, 6M, 5 Whys)
Conduct daily meetings and facilitate shift communication
Support implementation of production tools (Visual support, JIT, 5S, Kanban)
Responsible for process control using tools like Preventive Maintenance, Poka-yoke
Lead, motivate and support team member development
Provide initial support for operators' personal issues
Lead data collection for warehouse procedures
Ensure adherence to control plans via daily audits
Support Engineering and Production in new program development/validation
Responsible for Inbound and Outbound Warehouse activities
Manage team machine operation certification (e.g., forklifts)
Establish continuous improvement plans
Facilitate efficient communication within and across departments
Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness rules
Continuously improve health, safety and environmental conditions
Participate in policy definition, implementation, and maintenance
Participate in defining Environmental/Health & Safety policy objectives
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, quality, and productivity standards
Perform other tasks as required by service needs
Requirements:
Secondary Education, preferably with technical-professional training, or a degree in engineering or a related field
Previous experience in a similar role (experience in automotive environment will be valued)
Experience in managing team with at least 30 people will be valued
Knowledge and experience on automated material handling equipment’s such as forklifts (valid certification for SAFE HANDLING OF FORKLIFT TRUCK TRAINING preferred)
