Location & Shifts: Langstaff Rd/Highway 50, Woodbridge ON: - Mon-Fri (8am-4pm), $34/h to start The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of their respective area of the warehouse and the direction of the hourly workforce to achieve and exceed distribution center performance goals of production, employee relations, safety, service quality and cost. The Warehouse Supervisor reports to the Logistics Manager.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible to meet department productivity and quality goals
  • Complete Human Resources paperwork and other administrative tasks as assigned
  • Coordinate department activities and special projects to ensure quality and meet timetables
  • Coordinate with Logistics Managers for appropriate staffing levels
  • Direct staff in the development, analysis and performance of job task
  • Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Assist staff to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems
  • Coach and provide career development advice to staff
  • Responsible for staff scheduling to include work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees and shift rotations
  • Schedule and conduct staff meetings to include attending LM meetings and monthly review meetings with the SLM

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience will be considered)
  • Two (2) years or more experience in a similar position required
  • Two (2) years or more experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • User knowledge of SAP, and WMS
  • User lever knowledge of Windows and MS Office
  • advanced level
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Clean criminal record

  • Conduct quality assurance inspections on caskets, simple casket repairs, processing returns and communicating with production
  • Driver routing for customer service locations using routing software

  • Responsible for local operational performance in the following areas: cost, delivery, health and safety, property management, cost of quality, work standards, procedures and policies, and customer satisfaction
  • Implement strategies to improve operations and inventory efficiencies at the CSC level (i.e., fill rates)
  • Responsible for the achievement and reduction of cost per delivered unit and hours per unit measured as well as protection of company assets such as inventory, purchase cards, fuel cards, petty cash, etc
