We are seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Supervisor. The supervisor bridges warehouse execution with broader project supply chain goals, directly impacting schedule, cost, and safety. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager and continuous interaction with Expediting and Accountancy. The focus is on heavy/bulk materials, high-value engineered items, dynamic JIT deliveries to multiple sites, complex logistics under project timelines and engineering specifications, integration with site teams, procurement, and engineering. Job Responsibility
Lead and supervise a team of warehouse operatives, forklift operators, and logistics staff (typically 10-30+), including rostering, training, performance management, and safety leadership
Oversee end-to-end operations: receiving inbound shipments (even from international suppliers), inspection, put-away, storage, picking/kitting, packing, dispatch, and returns
Manage material forwarding to multiple construction sites with JIT principles, coordinating transport and ensuring materials arrive in the right sequence/condition with TMS
Maintain high inventory accuracy via cycle counting, reconciliation, and ERP/WMS transactions (SAP and Excel), tracking high-value/spares/heavy items with proper handling for construction materials
Enforce rigorous Work Health & Safety (WHS) standards, including manual handling, hazardous materials, heavy equipment, and site-specific risks, HVNL and COR
Coordinate with procurement, project engineers, site managers, and logistics providers to align supply with construction schedules and forecast needs
Monitor and drive KPIs such as OTIF to sites/Warehouse, inventory accuracy/turnover, material availability, shrinkage, and cost control
Support continuous improvement (Lean practices), layout optimisation, and process enhancements to reduce waste, handling damage, and lead times
Ensure compliance with Australian standards (chain of responsibility, dangerous goods, environmental regs, Heavy Vehicle National Law) and project-specific requirements (e.g., Construction Management Plan) and SWMS
Handle housekeeping, equipment maintenance, security, and reporting for audits/project controls
Requirements
4-7+ years in warehouse/logistics, with 2+ years supervisory experience, preferably in construction, infrastructure, heavy industry or Military background
Proven success in multi-site material distribution, inventory control, and meeting KPIs
Professional licences: Forklift, Dangerous Goods, HVNL, COR, White Card
Strong WHS operations knowledge and construction site awareness
Experience with ERP systems (SAP highly valued) and basic analytics (Excel)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for cross-functional project environments
