Our client, a well-established and fast-paced organisation within the FMCG wholesale and food distribution sector, is seeking a hands-on and organised Night Supervisor to lead warehouse operations and ensure high standards of service, quality, and efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take ownership of night shift operations within a time-critical environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise and coordinate night shift operations across multiple warehouse departments
  • Lead and allocate tasks across the team to ensure efficiency and performance targets are met
  • Manage rotas and staffing levels to ensure adequate operational cover
  • Act as the main point of contact for night operations, liaising with internal teams
  • Oversee picking, packing, and dispatch processes to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
  • Review and approve delivery routes prior to dispatch, managing any shortages or issues
  • Investigate picking errors and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy
  • Maintain strict quality control standards, ensuring only compliant products are dispatched
  • Oversee goods-in checks, identifying any quality or quantity issues
  • Manage stock control processes, including rotation (FIFO) and stock accuracy
  • Drive continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiency and performance
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and food safety standards at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory or team leader role, ideally within FMCG or food distribution
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively
  • Good understanding of warehouse operations, stock control, and dispatch processes
  • Knowledge of food safety and health & safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail with good IT and systems skills
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on approach with a strong focus on teamwork, accuracy, and efficiency
