Job Description

The Warehouse Stock Controller reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring that raw materials and finished goods are stored appropriately, accurately recorded, and handled to high housekeeping standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining stock accuracy across raw materials, finished goods, and packaging materials. Additionally, the role ensures compliance with quality, EHS, and company standards while supporting a well-organized and efficient warehouse operation.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage, motivate, and oversee the warehouse team to ensure resources are effectively used and business requirements are met
  • Ensure the effective and efficient storage and distribution of all raw materials and finished goods while meeting customer and internal quality system requirements
  • Organize available labor daily to meet operational needs
  • Accurately input data into the company system
  • Implement control systems to minimize operational errors
  • Maintain accurate stock records for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are met and maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform cycle counts and reconcile quantities in SAP
  • Conduct stock checks as requested and communicate results promptly
  • Lead stock takes as required
  • Ensure FIFO inventory practices are consistently followed
  • Ensure compliance with established quality, EHS, and company policies

Requirements

  • GCSE or A-levels
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial supervisory environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and instruct team members in required duties
  • Flexible approach with willingness to take on additional tasks as needed
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Forklift truck driving experience
  • Ability to operate as part of a fast-paced manufacturing team
  • Flexibility with start and finish times based on business needs

Nice to have

  • Professional experience working in an industrial environment
  • Experience with SAP or similar inventory management systems

  • Monitor stock levels to ensure product availability while avoiding overstock and unnecessary waste
  • Update and maintain inventory records using the Warehouse Management System (Odoo), including recording deliveries, tracking shortages and communicating issues to relevant teams
  • Inspect incoming goods, verifying quantities, quality, temperatures and supporting documentation
  • Ensure correct product labelling is applied and printed in line with food safety and traceability requirements
  • Manage the transfer of finished products to appropriate chilled, frozen or ambient storage locations
  • Monitor product quality as part of a wider warehouse and production team
  • Generate daily and weekly reports for management on stock levels, stock valuation, variances and slow-moving items
  • Ensure all storage areas meet health, safety, hygiene and security standards at all times
  • Comply fully with onsite food safety regulations, health and safety requirements and company policies
