Job Description

The Warehouse Receiver will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations by receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for ensuring that products are received in good condition, verifying the quantity and quality, and preparing items for storage or distribution. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The person hired for this role will need to work the assigned shift, which does have hours that could include mandatory overtime.

Job Responsibility

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments of products, materials, and supplies
  • Verify the accuracy of received items by comparing them to purchase orders and packing lists
  • Check for damaged or missing items and report discrepancies to the appropriate personnel
  • Ensure that received goods are properly labeled, sorted, and stored in the designated warehouse areas
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move and store received items
  • Maintain accurate records of all received shipments, including quantities, condition, and lot numbers
  • Assist in unloading and loading trucks, containers, and pallets as needed
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff and other departments to coordinate the timely processing of incoming shipments
  • Keep the receiving area clean and organized
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices to maintain a safe working environment
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, arrive on time for scheduled shifts, and adhere to the company’s attendance policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a warehouse receiver or in a similar role is preferred
  • Forklift certification is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and warehouse operations
  • Willingness to work in varying temperature and physical conditions
