We are looking for a highly motivated Warehouse Operator to join the materials management team at AbCellera. In this capacity, you will be a key member of the warehouse team responsible for ensuring the overall success of warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, inventory control, storage, replenishment, packing, staging, shipping, and maintaining a safe and lean work environment. You will also work closely with your peers in Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics to ensure efficient warehouse operations, and seamless information flow through SAP.
Job Responsibility:
Performing daily warehouse activities such as receiving, inspecting and storing materials, items, and products to ensure they are sorted, labeled, and stored properly and in compliance with AbCellera’s standards and policies
Loading and unloading shipments, ensuring proper documentation and handling
Handling order-picking, packing, and staging activities to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
Appropriately transporting the shipment of goods, accurately preparing bills of lading, and ensuring proper packaging of goods
Safely operating equipment, such as forklifts, reach trucks, battery charging equipment, pallet wrappers, pallet changers, compactors, dock levelers, etc.
Utilizing several devices such as Radio frequency technology (RFID), scanners, and others to read barcodes and transfer product information, quantities and location information directly into our warehouse management system
Performing regular inventory counts, reconciling discrepancies, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating replenishment activities to avoid shortages
Processing production orders and delivering on time
Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce waste
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and an associate degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
Proven experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a similar role
Experience in a GMP/GDP environment
Strong understanding of inventory management, logistics, and warehouse processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in SAP or similar ERP systems
Physically able to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods, including lifting and standing
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, including exposure to varying temperatures (e.g., cold room from 2º to 8º C)
Available to work shifts, including occasional evenings and weekends
Forklift certification or are able to obtain one
