Job Description

Never be tied to a desk again with this varied and active role! This is a fantastic role which will always keep you on the move! Your role will be to undertake allocated Warehouse-related duties in a safe, cost-effective and efficient manner.

Job Responsibility

  • Receive and check loads into the warehouse, ensuring all correct packaging and labelling is in place
  • Ensure all stock handled is secure and complies with relevant food safety standards
  • Operate assigned mechanical handling equipment to store and transport customer goods safely
  • Assist with assembling loads for despatch and onto vehicles
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure standards of cleanliness and hygiene levels
  • Take action to ensure any hazards are controlled or removed to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements

  • Up-to-date licence to use designated mechanical equipment
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office packages
  • The ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data
  • Extensive knowledge and application of warehouse, food safety rules and health and safety procedures
  • Ability to use initiative and to be organised so that key tasks are completed fully and on time
  • Ability to work to set targets and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven arithmetic skills
  • Effective working in a team-based environment

  • Pick orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring the correct products and quantities are selected for delivery or collection
  • Maintain a well-organized warehouse, ensuring proper storage and labelling of products for easy accessibility and efficient inventory management
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure adequate stock levels are always maintained, coordinating with the purchasing team to replenish inventory as needed
  • Provide support to the fleet department by assisting with vehicle inspections, maintenance scheduling/drop offs, and vehicle deliveries
  • Manage obsolete or redundant stock, including listing items for sale on eBay or other relevant platforms, ensuring proper documentation and disposal procedures are followed
  • Prepare and cut materials as required for engineers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications
  • Conduct regular stock takes and assist with inventory audits to maintain accurate stock records and identify any discrepancies
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with the purchasing manager and perform additional tasks as requested to support the efficient operation of the purchasing department
