IKEA Southampton are looking to welcome Warehouse Operatives to join our hardworking Fulfilment Operations team. Theses contracts are 16 or 20 hours a week. We have opportunities in Order Picking (moving through the store collecting and completing customer orders), Service Execution (cross-checking and handing out customer orders) and the Self-Serve Warehouse (supporting in the area where our customers pick their own items). Job Responsibility:
Picking and preparing large volumes of orders for both online and in-store collection or delivery, including handing them to the customer
Safely handling stock, picking, checking order accuracy, and preparing orders for delivery
Meeting the customer in the store during picking
Working with internal systems, software and technology to ensure that customers have accurate and full stock availability at all times
Contributing to optimized daily fulfilment operations by working in a lean, simple, and cost-conscious way, applying, and sharing good examples
Committed to all IKEA health, safety and security rules and requirements within area and actively help colleagues to prevent any incidents involving co-workers, customers, equipment, building and IKEA products
Requirements:
Comfortable using computers and handheld devices to support with the checking of stock and to answer customer questions
Proactively look for tasks to be done and use initiative to complete them in an efficient and effective manner
Adaptable mindset allowing to switch between different tasks/areas and work within tight time frames
Work with guidance from manager to achieve set goals in agreed timeframes using standard ways of working
Enjoy working efficiently in a fast-paced role that involves safe manual handling
Availability to work at least two days between Monday to Friday (up until 22:00pm), as well as 3 in 4 weekends, is essential
