Join our team at Total Plumbing Supplies, a respected independent builder’s merchant serving the Southeast since 2001. With a commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, we are part of the Independent Builders Merchant Group (IBMG), the largest independent merchant group in the South of England. We have a vacancy for a full time Warehouse Operative / Relief Van Driver at our Chard Total Plumbing Supplies Chard Branch. To ensure the premises are kept to a high standard to comply with Health & Safety regulations, maintaining a clean and tidy working area. You will be responsible for the delivery of products to customers, with key accountability for ensuring the quality and timing of service is first class. The role includes heavy lifting of goods by loading and unloading of the vehicle. Maintains high standards of housekeeping and vehicle cleanliness, ensuring compliance with all legal and security requirements. All this under the authority of the Branch Manager.

  • Forklift truck driving (training will be given)
  • Daily upkeep of warehouse
  • Deliver building materials to customers using a company van (3.5t or similar), ensuring safe and legal driving at all times
  • Plan efficient delivery routes in line with schedules provided
  • Ensure all goods are correctly loaded, secured, and signed for
  • Provide excellent customer service upon delivery, resolving minor queries where possible
  • Undertaking various other driving jobs required in relation to the efficient operation of the business
  • Assisting in the yard area with deliveries and assisting customers where necessary
