Job Description:

Our client, a well-established and fast-growing organisation within the FMCG wholesale and food distribution sector, is seeking a driven and hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager to lead warehouse operations and deliver best-in-class service across a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operational leader to build and develop high-performing teams while driving efficiency, service, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead, recruit, and develop a high-performing operations team, including supervisors and departmental managers
  • Drive a strong performance culture focused on accountability, delivery, and continuous improvement
  • Set clear objectives aligned to customer service KPIs, ensuring consistent achievement of on-time, in-full delivery targets
  • Oversee all warehouse operations including goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
  • Ensure stock accuracy and integrity across both physical inventory and warehouse management systems
  • Maintain high standards of product quality, handling, and customer service throughout the operation
  • Monitor and improve order accuracy and fulfilment processes to meet customer expectations
  • Manage labour, operational, and infrastructure costs to drive efficiencies and reduce cost per order
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and operational performance
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, using operational data and KPIs to inform decision-making
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across departments and support overall business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams to ensure service excellence
  • Oversee site management, ensuring safety, security, cleanliness, and operational readiness at all times
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage operational infrastructure, including equipment, systems, and supplier relationships
  • Lead resource and workforce planning to meet fluctuating demand effectively
  • Support and lead operational projects, driving change and delivering measurable improvements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager or Warehouse Manager role within FMCG, food distribution, or wholesale environments
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing large teams in fast-paced operations
  • Demonstrated ability to drive performance improvements and deliver against KPIs
  • Commercially aware with experience managing costs and improving operational efficiency
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, stock control, and logistics processes
  • Experience implementing SOPs, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to perform under pressure in a time-critical environment
