Warehouse Managers are responsible for overseeing operations at multiple storage yards and warehouse facilities. They will hire, manage, and train Warehouse and Facilities Personnel, assigning work and assessing their performance. They are responsible for ensuring the safe and secure storage of a range of items and the operations surrounding their organization and retrieval.
Job Responsibility:
Utilizes inventory management software to maintain an accurate inventory
Purchases materials, tools, and other items, ensuring compliance with purchase order processes
Utilizes inventory management software to receive and reconcile incoming inventory, transfer and consume outgoing inventory
Communicates with Construction Managers and Foremen to arrange the distribution of necessary materials and supplies
Coordinates logistics and scheduling of incoming shipments with transportation providers
Hires, manages, and trains warehouse and yard personnel
Ensures all warehouse personnel follow company policies and procedures
Ensures adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations
Reads and understands telecommunications construction specification sheets and prints to develop Bills of Material (BOM’s) and obtain purchase quotes
Researches vendors and negotiates pricing
Performs weekly, monthly, and annual inventory audits and cycle counts
Maintains yards and warehouses to ensure efficient operation and appropriate inventory levels
Perform and schedule facility maintenance as necessary
Clean up any oil spills, drips, and any slipping hazards immediately
Assist teams as needed
Other duties as required
Requirements:
Working knowledge of telecommunications construction and general construction
Previous experience with inventory management software required
Ability to use computer equipment and related software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills (oral and written)
Must possess excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical publications, financial & inventory reports, and legal documents
Ability to calculate figures, discounts, percentages, cubic yards, etc.
Ability to effectively read and write business letters, technical procedures, governmental regulations, reports, etc.
Ability to effectively present information to management, employees, and public groups
Ability to work with confidential information with discretion
Ability to train Yard Laborers in all required job duties and responsibilities
Must be a self-starter and internally motivated to achieve company, department, and personal objectives
Daily and exemplary attendance and punctuality are required for this position. The work may require overtime
Must be able and willing to work indoors and outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions
Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
Must be able to work around heavy equipment and machinery
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting
Must be able to stand, walk, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time
Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hard hat, and any applicable safety gear
