The incumbent will be responsible for all logistics functions within the facility, including coordinating with internal and external delivery drivers and managing all internal shipping and receiving activities. The incumbent will be responsible for the overall sale and efficient work of approximately 125 employees, hourly and salaried. The incumbent will work closely with Purchasing, Production, Quality Assurance and Scheduling in order to coordinate movement of product on and off site.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure accurate recordkeeping of all materials sent to storage (third party and internal) within the scope of Hold and Release Program and Supply Chain integrity
Coordinate and negotiate delivery and maintenance of all Material Handling equipment in facility
Maintain adequate supply of pallets to be used by the facility
Coordinate inventory activities / cycle counts on applicable schedule
Ensure OJT training and refresher training is completed as required
Manage KRONOS (payroll) approvals for hourly shipping and receiving staff
Manage, motivate and select hourly shipping / receiving staff
Recognize, support and commit to the Food Safety promise and facility Mission Statement
Act as a resource for other facilities in project work and contingency projects as required
Act as the primary contact for cross-border shipping and receiving for Bills of lading, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and all applicable legislative and regulatory compliance activities
Responsible for annual budget process and management of fixed storage budget cost centres
Act as Warehouse primary contact for product recall team
Site Leadership team member, representing distribution and order processing
Complete yearly PAD process for direct reports (1-up and 2-up responsibilities)
Create and assign goals to drive continuous improvement
Act as primary BRC contact for Warehouse and transportation
PO authorization and approvals for department related requirements and expenses
Responsible for monthly expense reporting and approvals for team members
Warehouse resource for weekly GPC meetings (Grievance Preparation Meetings)
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated successful and progressive experience in a unionized environment
Thorough knowledge of transportation industry and distribution centers
Be a skillful negotiator and possess excellent organizational and analytical skills
Experience with inventory control and production management
Experience or education in Supply Chain Management
Demonstrated excellence in leadership ability
Experience with SAP and EWM (warehouse management)
Knowledge of HACCP and Provincial Health and Safety Regulations
