Job Description

Due to expansion in business, we are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our team in Thomastown, to supervise the depot operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the import process and managing the bonded depot. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in import processes with proven experience in managing bonded warehouse operations, while working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will form a connection between the office processes and the warehouse operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in managing and overseeing daily operations of the bonded depot (77G), including training, compliance, safety, receiving, storing, and clearance operations for our Thomastown depot
  • Be one of the Point of Contact and manage interactions with Australia Border Force (ABF) and Quarantine (DAFF) and ensure compliance with these requirements are maintained at all times
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff to achieve operational goals
  • Be hands on within the bonded depot operations, setting the pace
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
  • Managing client enquiries and handling customer feedback/complaints in a timely manner
  • Monitor and report on depot performance metrics, such as productivity and efficiency
  • Develop and implement processes to streamline processes and improve overall performance efficiency
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policy and ensuring accuracy with compliance obligations
  • Performing other ad hoc tasks as required by their supervisor / company

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Warehouse Manager / Warehouse Supervisor (or in a similar role)
  • Experience overseeing S77G Depot operations
  • Able to manage large teams in a warehouse / depot environment
  • Experience creating and maintaining a safe working environment
  • A current forklift license
  • Strong knowledge of customs clearance, cartage, and end-to-end import processes
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Experience with Cargowise and ICS
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and sustain client relations
  • Strong attention to detail and good time management
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
