Job Description

We are looking for a Warehouse Lead to join our team in the Portland area. In this role, you can expect to assist the supervisor and oversee warehouse workers. Load and/or unload trucks. Receive, check, store, count and distribute inventory of all types in accordance with established systems, procedures and methods. Schedules are typically Monday - Friday starting at 6:00am, 8–10-hour shifts with occasional Saturdays. Starting pay is $25.75/hr.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist the supervisor and oversee warehouse workers
  • Load and/or unload trucks
  • Receive, check, store, count and distribute inventory of all types
  • Assist supervisor in management of warehouse/location operational responsibilities
  • Maintain safe and positive work environment in compliance with OSHA, company standards, and local, state and federal requirements
  • Lead the warehouse team
  • Assign job tasks according to shipping schedules
  • Work as a warehouse team member and perform tasks necessary to meet warehouse goals
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork
  • Manage day to day inventory levels
  • Maintain Forklift certification
  • Schedule work for specials and periodic inventories
  • Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions
  • Train, support, guide Warehouse workers
  • May be responsible for management and timely execution of daily receiving and shipping load board
  • May be required to hold daily team meetings with teams
  • Stack and arrange product on pallets
  • Complete forklift and pallet jack inspections before each shift
  • Replenish stock while maintaining a cleaned and organized warehouse/location daily
  • Move product in warehouse/location as necessary during reallocations of space or taking of inventory
  • Rotate product and arrange according to Julian dates or FIFO
  • Receive and check against receiving documents incoming product
  • Assist in planning layout of location/warehouse/storage area
  • Operate electric forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Work in and out of freezers (temperatures average 32 degrees to –25 degrees)
  • General support of production
  • Required to wear hairnet, smock (freezer suits optional), steel toed boots, overshoes, earplugs, and gloves
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Prefer high school diploma or GED
  • 3-4 years of warehouse, manufacturing or production experience
  • One year of shift lead experience with sound, effective communication skills
  • Maintain forklift certification. Must have standing forklift experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to work in production/warehouse environment with constant exposure to loud machinery
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures, both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
