The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing the strategy and operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient logistics and asset management. This role supervises warehouse cell activities, ensures warehousing assets are maintained and perform at a high level of efficiency, coordinates with Unilever logistics teams for all issues with deliveries, and maintains a safe and productive work environment. This leader needs to hold the warehouse team to a high standard and maintain accountability to ensure Unilever Safety, Quality and GMP standards are kept.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with maintenance teams to conduct thorough preventive maintenance (PM) activities on all equipment (conveyor, sortation, palletization, and stretchwrapper assets) for optimal performance
Manage warehouse cell operations ensuring the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) is performed to standard
Own the Run 2 Standard (R2S) cell for the warehouse, ensuring AM, PM and FI progress matches the glidepath expectations
Coordinate with Unilever Logistics teams to facilitate timely pickups of finished goods and resolve scheduling issues
Manage the yard, prioritizing loads to focus on reduced demurrage costs
Oversee Powered Industrial Vehicle contracts, monitor repairs, and ensure vehicles are operational and compliant
Manage relationships with other logistics contractors, ensuring service quality and adherence to safety standards
Order and maintain inventory of warehouse materials to support operational needs
Provide comprehensive training to warehouse operators, ensuring competence and compliance with safety protocols
Manage the WMS system on site and coordinate with external WMS contractors for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the software
Oversee WMS improvements and coordinate with project engineers on Warehouse capex projects for operational needs
Own packaging and finished good inventory
ensuring accurate counts are recorded
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, logistics, supply chain, or related STEM field
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in operations or logistics management, either in industry or military
Strong leadership and supervisory skills with proven ability to manage teams
Experience managing contractor relationships and Powered Industrial Vehicles preferred
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
