Job Description:

Our distribution center depends on this role to keep the entire operation running smoothly and ensure a safe and clean working environment. In this role, you'll work closely with the sanitation and maintenance teams to execute vital preventative maintenance programs to ensure the facility is in good repair and equipment is running smoothly.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with Facilities Maintenance and operations leadership to execute a Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for equipment and facilities
  • Troubleshoot emergency issues and identify complex maintenance and facilities issues, coordinate resources to provide necessary vendor support
  • Inspect general interior and exterior building/equipment conditions
  • perform simple repairs, replacements, maintenance on basic parts in order to maintain the high standards of warehouse condition/appearance
  • Perform basic painting/touching up of interior/exterior doors, office, walls, trim, etc.
  • assist with small in-house projects, or tasks as needed
  • Help reduce overall maintenance costs
  • help monitor vendor activity, quality of results
  • Work independently to prioritize responsibilities and requests
  • attend to critical tasks first
  • ensure smooth and efficient operations throughout the warehouse
  • Properly handle products, safely operate equipment, and tools
  • keep accurate logs
  • follow food and human safety, sanitation, and simplification practices and procedures
  • Ensure equipment is properly labeled, asset tagged and communicated to Facilities Maintenance
  • Assist sanitation team with responding to maintenance calls by attending to spills, breaks or other accidents to maintain the general upkeep and safety of the facility

Requirements:

  • 1 or more years of mechanical experience
  • 1 or more years' experience with mechanical/technical projects including home improvements, remodeling, general repair work and effective and safe use of power tools
  • Computer skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience in a handyperson role
  • Basic carpentry skills
