Job Description:

The Purger is responsible for locating and inspecting fabric bolts to fulfill orders accurately. This includes checking for defects, matching dye lots, and supporting inventory accuracy. The role also assists with sample and memo preparation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Locate bolts for orders that cannot be found by pullers due to missing location, rezone buggies, or miss-zoning
  • Identify and check commonly miss-zoned areas in the warehouse
  • Verify bolt counts and inspect fabric as needed to complete orders
  • Examine fabric for flaws such as tears, discoloration, slubs, and pulled threads
  • Evaluate overall fabric quality to ensure it meets required standards and specifications
  • Match dye lots accurately when pulling and inspecting bolts
  • Support the Memo Department by cutting fabric swatches and preparing memos
  • Assist the Samples Department by assembling kits, moving inventory, and organizing sample stock
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school graduate
  • General knowledge of fabrics, fabric flaws, and dye lot variance
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Must successfully pass a color blindness test
  • Accurate with names, numbers, and spelling
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time
  • Physically able to lift materials as needed
  • Aptitude for recognizing fabric defects
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions
