Job Description

As an important member of the sawmill Maintenance Team, the successful applicant will be an energetic team player who will assist with the Maintenance and Purchasing departments in tracking, organizing, ordering and maintaining the maintenance equipment, parts and tools.

Job Responsibility

  • Work closely with the Purchasing Manager and Maintenance Planner to ensure the mill has ample and available supplies
  • Keep parts room and work area clean, organized and safe
  • Administration of inventory purchase orders, requisitions, and transfers
  • Manage inventory counts as required
  • Assist Millwrights/Electricians with finding parts
  • Send requisitions for pricing
  • Coordinate shipping of materials
  • Review, generate, process and update Work Orders and maintenance schedules
  • Update maintenance department manpower and work schedules
  • Daily filing of maintenance and purchasing documentation
  • Additional administrative duties that support the maintenance team

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial setting, maintenance environment preferred
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to learn new programs
  • Previous parts person/buyer experience would be an asset
  • Exceptionally organized and courteous
  • Ability to work both independently and in multiple team environments
  • Forklift Exp for unloading parts and moving parts in warehouse
