Job Description

Consensus is a community dedicated to inspiring and empowering people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. This role is at Sugar Mills, a newly developed specialist Supported Living service for people to flourish independently, whilst having a team to support them 24/7. Made up of self-contained flats across the ground floor and first floor, Sugar Mills has assistive technology to promote independence and enables people to have a tenancy for their own home.

Job Responsibility

  • Help the people we support to engage in meaningful opportunities and activities
  • Get involved in the community, support during leisure and social activities, and celebrate special occasions
  • Communicate appropriately, considering individual communication needs, and helping people to communicate effectively with others

Requirements

  • May be new to care or have experience in the social care sector as Mental Health Support Worker, Care Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Care Assistant

  • Demonstrable experience in a Waking Nights post, supporting outreach services or within a hostel setting
  • NVQ Level 3 in Housing/Health and Social Care or be working towards this qualification
