Our client is a VIC government organisation based in the Melbourne CBD. They are currently seeking a Payroll Officer to come in and work with them on a temporary contract opportunity until 31/12/2026 with possible extensions.
Job Responsibility
Process the fortnightly pay cycle, superannuation, payroll tax, and ad hoc payments in line with the VPS agreement and legislative standards
Execute complex, high-risk separation and termination calculations and processing with strict accuracy and compliance
Provide timely, high-level advice on payroll concepts, leave conditions, entitlements, and policies across the Transport portfolio
Undertake deep-dive investigations into complex payroll errors and recommend actions to prevent future issues
Contribute advanced technical expertise to teams working on complex payroll projects and process improvements
Independently perform advanced payroll functions and adapt to other assigned duties under the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic)
Requirements
Proven end to end high volume payroll processing experience
Prior experience working with SAP SuccessFactors system
Previous Local, state or Federal government experience
Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with Advanced Excel skills required
