The VP of Transportation is responsible for leading all transportation operations across InnovAge’s PACE/LIFE centers. This leader ensures safe, timely, and compliant transportation services for participants, drives operational standardization, and leads the modernization of fleet and routing technology. The VP sets strategy, oversees workforce management, and partners closely with Operations and Clinical leadership to support overall participant care.
Job Responsibility:
Lead all daily transportation operations, including routing, scheduling, dispatch, and on-time performance across multiple states
Establish consistent transportation policies, operational standards, and center-level practices
Monitor KPIs such as route efficiency, miles per trip, schedule adherence, and safety incidents
Ensure compliance with ADA requirements and non-emergent medical transport protocols
Oversee driver training, incident response, and root-cause investigations
Promote a strong safety culture and minimize avoidable participant harm
Own all CMS, state PACE, and state transportation regulatory obligations
Maintain documentation standards, vehicle logs, maintenance records, and driver credentialing
Prepare for audits and coordinate corrective action plans
Oversee fleet lifecycle, vehicle replacement, vendor partnerships, and maintenance strategy
Lead implementation of routing, GPS, dispatch, and mobile technology solutions
Support digital transformation initiatives alongside IT and Operations
Manage transportation budgets, forecasting, and cost-containment initiatives
Optimize routing for efficiency while maintaining participant experience standards
Evaluate and manage external transportation vendors when applicable
Lead and develop transportation managers, supervisors, and a large driver workforce
Improve engagement, retention, and training consistency across all centers

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s preferred
15+ years of leadership experience in transportation, logistics, healthcare transportation, or regulated operations
Experience leading multi-site operations with large hourly/driver workforces
Deep understanding of safety practices, compliance, and operational performance
Strong analytical and financial management skills
Demonstrated success leading modernization initiatives
