Job Description:

This role is critical for driving product excellence and strategic alignment across the regional and global Custody product management portfolios. The Product Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing control standards, participate in regional strategic decision-making, leading transformation initiatives, ensuring cross-regional coordination, and aligning technology development with product strategy. The successful candidate will leverage extensive experience in global financial services to influence stakeholders, manage complex programs, and promote a unified "One Global Product" mindset to achieve superior client outcomes and operational efficiency. The role will also require building relationships with the local and regional banking teams to drive the growth of the custody business in APAC.

Job Responsibility:

  • Control Objectives & Standards: Ensure regional control, operational, and product standards for Custody Product are clearly defined and consistently implemented across region
  • Partner with Risk & Control, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure strong control design, proactive issue identification, and high‑quality remediation
  • Support global governance routines spanning issue management, key risk indicators, process documentation, and testing frameworks
  • Strategic Decision-Making: Provide insights, analysis, and decision support to the Global Product Head for Custody on regional priorities and strategic planning
  • Drive adoption of data‑driven, risk‑aware decision-making across global product management
  • Identify emerging risks, simplification opportunities, and areas where enhanced coordination or redesign can improve client outcomes
  • Transformation: Participate in and lead transformation initiatives in Custody product, including product simplification, modernisation of platforms, and process re‑engineering
  • Coordinate execution with stakeholders across Product, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and regional business teams
  • Support delivery of regulatory, operational, and strategic commitments tied to product quality, controls, and technology improvement
  • Cross-Regional Coordination & Partnership: Participate in global governance forums, ensuring transparency on milestones, risks, issues, and performance metrics
  • Promote a unified “One Global Product” mindset and facilitate collaboration across markets and functions
  • Drive marketing and sales of the Global Custody product to the local and regional banker teams
  • Manage custodian relationship and drive cooperation and participate in custodian service reviews
  • Technology Book of Work Coordination: Drive alignment between the global technology book of work and product strategy, regulatory commitments, and operational priorities
  • Establish governance routines to improve transparency, prioritization, and dependency management across global delivery teams
  • Partner with Technology to enable timely delivery of critical enhancements, control improvements, and platform modernization initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Technology, or related fields preferred
  • Professional certifications (project management, risk management, operational excellence) are a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in global financial services in Custody product management, transformation or Custody Operations
  • Strong knowledge of custody product, including market expertise and asset servicing is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational controls, risk management, and governance frameworks
  • Experience coordinating global technology delivery portfolios and working closely with Technology leadership
  • Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to deliver complex, multi-region change programs
