We are in an extraordinary position and are looking for the VP, Platform Business Development to bridge strategy and execution across revenue generation; business development; new market development; developer relations; sales operations; and the scaling of the incubating Platform business in Bentley, collaborating closely with the Chief Platform Officer. The ideal candidate has proven success driving market-visible business outcomes; communicating to a breadth of stakeholders; and thriving in ambiguity.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide strategic guidance to a top-notch business development team with existing market traction and YoY growth well into double digitals

  • Lead annual strategy sessions to scale core revenue streams across commercial, federal, and Japan. Encourage the team to be strategic and explore different revenue segmentations and emerging markets to glen new insights

  • Authentic leadership and people management for about 14 amazing colleagues including two Directors with people management responsibilities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the Platform organization to enable transparent and productive communication across BD, PM, Engineering, and Communications
  • Liaison with other organizations in Bentley
  • Support the transformation of Bentley Systems from a product company to a platform and product company
  • This role reports directly to the Chief Platform Officer
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements)

Requirements:

  • Proven business experience in geospatial, civil engineering, federal, and/or Japan
  • Exceptional communication in writing and in person. Ability to communicate to a breadth of stakeholders, including executives, engineers, and community members
  • Leadership skills with proven business outcomes. The ability to earn stakeholder buy-in and facilitate execution with the right level of visibility
  • Adaptable, humble, and always learning. Proven capable of working through steep learning curves
  • BS or MS in a related field or equivalent experience. MBA preferred
