Job Description

A highly respected investment firm is seeking a senior finance leader to join its growing alternative asset management platform. This is a high-impact role within a lean, sophisticated organization known for its strong performance, collaborative culture, and operational excellence. The position will serve as a key partner to senior leadership, overseeing fund finance, management company operations, investor reporting, treasury, audit, tax, and strategic initiatives across the platform. Rather than building from scratch, this person will step into a well-established infrastructure and help drive scalability, process improvements, and continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment with direct exposure to firm leadership, meaningful ownership, and long-term upside.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead finance and accounting activities across the management company and investment entities
  • Partner with senior leadership on fund economics, business strategy, and growth initiatives
  • Oversee financial reporting, audits, tax processes, treasury, budgeting, and cash management
  • Manage fund operations including capital calls, distributions, waterfalls, NAV reporting, and investor reporting
  • Coordinate with auditors, administrators, tax advisors, legal counsel, and external partners
  • Improve financial processes, systems, controls, and operational workflows
  • Support fund launches, structuring, valuations, and investor-related requests
  • Lead and mentor a small finance team
  • Assist with compliance and regulatory matters as needed

Requirements

  • 10+ years of finance experience within private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, or alternative investments
  • Strong background in fund accounting, management company finance, and investor reporting
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, fund structures, valuations, waterfalls, and capital activity
  • Experience managing audits, tax engagements, and third-party service providers
  • Proven ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in a lean environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills

Nice to have

  • CPA preferred
  • SEC-registered investment adviser experience is a plus
