Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic VP of Finance to lead the financial operations of a manufacturing organization. This role will oversee all aspects of financial management while driving operational efficiency and supporting strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on execution. Candidate needs to have extensive background in manufacturing.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, ensuring effective management of general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Oversee month-end close processes, prepare accurate financial statements, and manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow activities
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure audit readiness, while enhancing cost accounting processes and accuracy
  • Monitor production costs, material usage, and labor efficiency, providing actionable insights to improve operational performance
  • Analyze variances in costs, overhead, and labor, collaborating with operations to implement corrective measures
  • Support pricing decisions through detailed cost and margin analysis, ensuring alignment with financial goals
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to drive cost reduction and efficiency improvements
  • Develop and improve financial reporting systems, processes, and controls to support long-term strategic goals
  • Advise executive leadership by translating financial data into actionable business recommendations
  • Represent the finance function in cross-functional projects and initiatives, fostering collaboration across departments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with leadership roles in manufacturing environments
  • Expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing workflows
  • Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on financial management in a small-business setting
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively to cross-functional teams
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and managing high-performing teams
  • Familiarity with cash flow management and operational efficiency strategies
