We are looking for an experienced and dynamic VP of Finance to lead the financial operations of a manufacturing organization. This role will oversee all aspects of financial management while driving operational efficiency and supporting strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on execution. Candidate needs to have extensive background in manufacturing.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, ensuring effective management of general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
Oversee month-end close processes, prepare accurate financial statements, and manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow activities
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure audit readiness, while enhancing cost accounting processes and accuracy
Monitor production costs, material usage, and labor efficiency, providing actionable insights to improve operational performance
Analyze variances in costs, overhead, and labor, collaborating with operations to implement corrective measures
Support pricing decisions through detailed cost and margin analysis, ensuring alignment with financial goals
Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to drive cost reduction and efficiency improvements
Develop and improve financial reporting systems, processes, and controls to support long-term strategic goals
Advise executive leadership by translating financial data into actionable business recommendations
Represent the finance function in cross-functional projects and initiatives, fostering collaboration across departments
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with leadership roles in manufacturing environments
Expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing workflows
Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on financial management in a small-business setting
Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively to cross-functional teams
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and managing high-performing teams
Familiarity with cash flow management and operational efficiency strategies
