Job Description

The General Manager Europe is responsible for the overall leadership, growth, and profitability for VGO, executing a harmonized strategy developed in partnership with the EMEA leadership team. This role functions as a General Manager for the European countries, overseeing Sales, Marketing, Pricing. The role will drive revenue growth, market expansion, and operational excellence across all European countries while managing the go-to-market strategy including eCommerce, direct sales, and indirect distribution channels. This executive plays a pivotal role in managing P&L performance, overseeing multi-channel sales execution, and developing customer and market strategies across Installer, Do-It-For-Me (DIFM), Direct Customers, Lubricants Distributors, OEMs and Retail (Express Care) channels throughout Europe.

Job Responsibility

  • Execute against the regional business strategy aligned with the broader regional and global objectives, targeting double-digit revenue growth
  • Own the P&L for Europe, ensuring financial performance, revenue targets, and profitability goals are met or exceeded
  • Drive brand marketing, pricing strategies, and product training initiatives to drive market penetration and customer engagement
  • Lead the Retail, distribution, and direct sales channels, optimizing go-to-market strategies for varying market conditions
  • Execute a European sales and go-to-market strategy to maximize revenue and market share
  • Oversee channel strategy development, ensuring a balance between direct sales, distributors, and eCommerce platforms
  • Strengthen relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners to enhance market share and brand presence
  • Manage and monitor pricing strategy across Europe to maximize profitability while maintaining competitiveness
  • Ensure a consistent and powerful brand presence across all European markets, in harmony with the broader EMEA region
  • Ensure product training, marketing campaigns, and customer engagement initiatives are applied with the appropriate regional relevance
  • Utilize data-driven insights to optimize marketing investments and ROI
  • Develop innovative customer engagement programs to build loyalty and brand equity
  • Lead a high-performing, matrixed organization, collaborating with Operations, Finance, HR, and Legal to ensure smooth execution of regional business initiatives
  • Work closely with the regional EMEA team to align European operations with the broader regional and global corporate vision
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and cultural alignment across all European markets
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to optimize regional supply, distribution, and logistics
  • Work with Finance to ensure compliance, risk management, and financial control across all markets
  • Drive cost efficiency and resource optimization without compromising growth objectives

Requirements

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in a multinational company, preferably within EMEA markets (spotlight on the EU countries), including experience operating at an executive level
  • Proven track record of leading a $0.5B+ revenue business unit or region with P&L accountability
  • Experience managing a complex, multi-country, multi-channel sales model, including direct sales, distribution, and eCommerce
  • Strong leadership in Sales, Marketing, and Pricing
  • Experience leading a high-performing, matrixed organization while partnering with Operations, Finance, HR, and Legal to ensure smooth execution of business initiatives
  • Deep understanding of European business dynamics, regulatory environments, and cultural diversity
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and execution skills
  • Strong people leadership capabilities, including collaborating, influencing, and negotiating at a senior level
  • Ability to drive innovation, digital transformation, and business expansion
