With its Corporate and Leveraged Finance (CLF) business line Crédit Agricole CIB is a leading international debt provider and ranks among the top players in the EMEA syndicated loan and bond league tables. Present in Europe, in the USA and in Asia, CLF is in charge of originating, structuring and arranging debt financings for the bank’s corporate and private equity clients. Through its rating and capital structure advisory franchise, CLF is also in charge of advising clients on all strategic financing matters from capital structure optimization to formal rating advisory. The Corporate Acquisition Finance and Advisory Team provides syndicated and event driven financing solutions to the corporate clients of the bank and is a well-established leading player in the EMEA and Western Europe syndicated loan market and consistently ranks the Top 2 in the respective Bookrunner League Tables.

Job Responsibility:

  • Actively originate and structure new transactions within the CLF-Corporates scope and execute these transactions independently
  • Establish strong working relationships with the CLF (Origination) and DAR (Syndicate and Sales) teams, senior bankers and other business lines for a seamless and successful origination process
  • but also outside the bank, notably with clients
  • Generate ideas and prepare (acquisition) financing pitches including structuring and pricing in close collaboration with the other business lines of the bank (DAR, DCM, ECM, GIB, Rating Advisory) and also with the other product lines within CLF (LBO and telecoms)
  • Participate in client meetings with senior bankers and other business lines
  • Maintain close relationships with legal and debt advisors and other banks in the region
  • Lead the drafting/negotiation of mandate and commitment papers (particularly term sheets) and negotiate the loan documentation with the client and/or lawyer (coordinator / doc agent roles)
  • Run alongside DAR Syndicate and sales teams the syndication process (including preparation of marketing materials and managing of Q&A process)
  • Lead and review the drafting of CLF requests (risk analysis, sector analysis, transaction structure, development of bank cases and sensitivity cases, etc.) and coordinate the
  • Review financial models, if and where relevant, with a particular focus on cash flow analysis and financial projections, incl. the assessment of clients’ (rating based) debt capacity and identification of ideal financing structures

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree – MA/MSc/PhD/Doctorate or equivalent
  • Graduate Degree in Business administration, economics, finance, accounting or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience within an Acquisition Finance/Structured Finance/Corporate Finance division of a corporate and investment bank and/or debt advisory
  • Significant experience in: Syndicated loan origination process
  • Structuring, negotiating and documenting syndicated credit facilities
  • Preparation and presentation of credit files, incl. management of internal credit process
  • Good understanding of other investment banking products (such as M&A, ECM, capital markets products, securitization)
  • Strong analytical and credit analysis skills (incl. financial modelling)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to work across all levels of an international organization
  • Willing to simultaneously work under pressure on several transactions with different priorities and tight project deadlines
  • Team player with high level of motivation, commitment and integrity
  • Excellent language skills in German and English
