We are looking for an experienced finance leader to oversee financial strategy, governance, and performance for our Albuquerque, New Mexico operations. This position serves as a key advisor to business leadership, helping guide planning, investment decisions, and operational priorities through clear financial insight. The role also ensures strong controls, reliable reporting, and compliance with corporate standards while supporting research programs, funded initiatives, and long-term business growth.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the finance function for the Albuquerque, New Mexico business, providing direction on financial strategy, governance, and day-to-day oversight
Partner with operational, technical, and executive leaders to deliver analysis that supports informed decisions on performance, growth, and resource allocation
Direct budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities, ensuring alignment with broader finance policies and reporting expectations
Review monthly financial results, management reports, and key performance indicators to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Guide financial oversight for research and development efforts, including project costing, spend tracking, and compliance with external funding requirements
Build business cases, scenario models, and investment analyses to support strategic initiatives, partnerships, and commercial opportunities
Contribute financial leadership to pricing discussions, contract evaluations, and funding arrangements, including government-supported programs
Strengthen internal controls, reporting discipline, and governance practices to support statutory compliance and future capital markets readiness
Manage and develop the local finance team, including oversight of the Financial Controller and future accounting staff, to ensure effective execution of finance operations.
Requirements:
10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership responsibility within a complex business environment
Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, annual planning, and cash flow management
Strong background in financial reporting, month-end close oversight, and performance analysis
Experience creating financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic and operational decisions
Ability to work closely with cross-functional leaders and translate financial data into practical business recommendations
Knowledge of financial controls, compliance standards, and governance frameworks
Experience supporting R&D, project-based work, government-funded programs, or similarly regulated initiatives is strongly preferred.
