Job Description

We are looking for an experienced VP/Director of Finance to join our client's team in Troy, Michigan. In this contract position, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and providing strategic guidance to support organizational goals. This role involves managing a team, preparing detailed financial reports, and maintaining compliance with financial standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage monthly financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Prepare comprehensive board decks for quarterly meetings and deliver financial updates to stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain financial reports for monthly operations meetings, providing insights to support decision-making
  • Supervise and provide oversight to a team of 11 employees, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to financial policies
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and perform detailed financial analysis to support organizational goals
  • Ensure payroll compliance across multiple states, including handling garnishments and other payroll-related matters
  • Utilize Sage Intact for financial management and reporting processes
  • Collaborate with private equity sponsors and debt providers to maintain clean balance sheets and meet financial obligations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting leadership roles
  • Expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting
  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, including multi-state payroll and garnishments
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar financial management software
  • Familiarity with private equity environments and working with debt providers
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing teams effectively
