Direct the accounting organization in executing day-to-day activities and month-end deliverables in accordance with U.S. GAAP and public company standards
Oversee the full general ledger close cycle, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
Prepare and supervise monthly and quarterly reporting packages for leadership, ensuring reported figures are fully supported by underlying records
Manage accounting for equity-related activity, including stock-based compensation calculations and maintenance of related rollforwards
Establish, refine, and document accounting procedures and policies that reinforce a strong internal control environment
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and internal audit teams during quarterly reviews and annual audit activities
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate financial results, support variance analysis, and contribute to management and external reporting
Identify opportunities to improve close efficiency, elevate reporting quality, and enhance the effectiveness of accounting operations and controls
Provide leadership on accounting policy development, standard operating procedures, and any future system implementation or conversion initiatives
Coach, develop, and lead a high-performing accounting team while fostering accountability and career growth
Requirements:
Active CPA license required
Nevada licensure is not necessary
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
At least 15 years of progressive operational accounting experience spanning both public accounting and industry environments
Prior experience at the vice president or corporate controller level with responsibility for audit review and financial oversight
Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, public company reporting expectations, and internal control frameworks
Demonstrated success building, mentoring, and retaining strong accounting teams
Strong analytical judgment with the ability to solve problems effectively in a high-growth, deadline-sensitive setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
