We are looking for an experienced commercial lending leader to strengthen business banking relationships in Alexandria, Minnesota area. This role focuses on managing an existing commercial loan portfolio and helping local companies secure financing that supports their goals while balancing sound credit judgment and long-term portfolio health. The position also plays an important part in expanding market presence, guiding client strategy, and contributing to the growth of the commercial banking team.
Job Responsibility
Build and manage lasting relationships with business clients by understanding their financing objectives and delivering tailored lending solutions
Evaluate borrower financials, cash flow, collateral, and overall creditworthiness to structure responsible commercial loan recommendations
Oversee a commercial loan portfolio with attention to risk quality, profitability, renewals, and ongoing client service
Identify new business opportunities through networking, referral development, and active participation in the local business community
Partner with customers to recommend loan structures that align with operational needs, growth plans, and repayment capacity
Monitor lending activity to ensure compliance with banking regulations, internal credit standards, and documentation requirements
Stay current on economic conditions, industry developments, and product offerings that may affect commercial clients and lending strategy
Support and mentor lending team members by sharing expertise, encouraging collaboration, and helping strengthen overall team performance
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in commercial lending, portfolio management, or a closely related business banking role
Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, financial statements, loan underwriting, and deal structuring
Demonstrated ability to develop business relationships and generate new commercial banking opportunities
Experience managing commercial loan portfolios while balancing client service with sound risk practices
Solid understanding of commercial banking products, market dynamics, and regulatory expectations
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with business owners and internal stakeholders
